Start by checking the handle closely.
\nLook under the lever or knob.
\nUse a flashlight if the bathroom is dim.
\nMany handles use a small Allen screw.
\nOthers hide a screw behind a snap-on cap.<\/p>\n

If you find a screw, loosen it gently.
\nDo not strip the head.
\nPull the handle straight off.
\nDo not twist hard against the wall.
\nThat can damage the valve stem.<\/p>\n

Once the handle is off, inspect the red button.
\nMineral buildup may be holding it.
\nDried soap can also make it stick.
\nClean around the button with warm water.
